Police in Grand Rapids, Michigan are making headlines after handcuffing and 11-year-old girl and holding her at gunpoint.
The terrible incident occurred after the young girl walked out of her house during a search. “It made me feel scared and it made me feel like I did something wrong,” Honestie Hodges told WOOD-TV.
Her mother, Whitney Hodges witnessed the situation “The whole time they are telling her to come down, I’m telling them, ‘She’s 11 years old. That’s my daughter. Don’t cuff her,” Whitney Hodges told the TV station.
Grand Rapids authorities say they were at the Hodges home searching for the child’s aunt, Carrie Manning, 40, who was later arrested for an alleged stabbing in the area.
The 11-year-old is still shaken up by the situation. “I’m afraid to open or go near my back door … because of what happened.”
